We were reminiscing about all the great movies we saw in 2017 and almost considered taking the time to put together a list of all the nominees. And then we came to our senses.
I mean, those movies are so ‘last year’! It is 2018 now, and we’d rather list out the most anticipated movies to put on your radar for the coming 12 months. We won’t deny that last year had some pretty impressive offerings, but you’ve really got to check out what’s to come:
Sicario 2: Soldado
“How would you define terrorism?” Well, if you’d ask the federal agent, Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) that line is somewhat grey. But when you’ve got terrorists crossing over the US-Mexican border at an alarming rate, you don’t have time to draw any neat lines. And so things tend to get a little messy, and that is exactly what we’re counting on this summer for its theater release.
Mortal Engines
Peter Jackson takes on a film of such epic proportions, it literally involves cities roving the earth under a gargantuan chassis and ‘mortal engine’. If you thought the remake of Mad Max was a bit of a disappointment in 2015, we think the director, Christian Rivers, may have some redemption for you in 2018.
The Equalizer 2
We had the 2014 film, the Equalizer on our wanted list once upon a time ago. And so it should come as no surprise that we are really looking forward to seeing what Robert McCall has been up to since we last saw him.
Black Panther
The Avengers: Infinity War is a very anticipated film for 2018, but on the excitometer, we’d rate the Black Panther just a smidgen higher. Have we lost our minds, some might ask? Well, no, we’re just going off of this teaser, which quite frankly speaks for itself.
Death Wish (2018)
We were just thinking this past year that we haven’t seen Bruce Willis in a classic butt-kicking film in quite awhile. And if you’ve been pondering that same notion, he must have been thinking the same thing, as the coming 2018 version of Death Wish looks like it is going to be packed with enough testosterone to make up for all that lost time. “If a man really wants to protect what’s his – he has to do it for himself.”
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Need you wonder why the sequel to Jurassic Park has made it onto our list? We thought not, so just enjoy this quick teaser until the full version makes it way to a theater near you this summer!
