We’ve said that the best glasses you can buy for under $200 belong to the Spy Happy lens Crosstown Collection. And our reasons were quite simple. They look great, feel incredibly comfortable, improve on the look of the world around you, and just make you feel good (read here to discover how a pair of sunglasses can actually make you more happy).
And we thought things couldn’t get any better.
Over the last month we’ve been sampling the newest invention at the Happy Lens laboratories, a Happy polarized lens made out of glass. Yeah, glass – that heavy, clear, super hard substance that is reserved for only the most premium of sunglasses.
But here’s the deal… these aren’t all that heavy. Actually, it is difficult to feel the weight difference between these and Spy’s standard Happy lens. The only way we knew that something was up with our favorite sunnies, is that the view from outside was even more crisp and they now stay a bit more clean.
The polarized glass on these is just fantastic at avoiding lint, hair and fingerprints, and believe you… we put them to the test:
These new lenses not only stay clean longer, but wipe off more easily. And, like most all Happy gear we’ve sampled, they not only enhance the world around you… but enhance you to the rest of the world.
When spy invited us to try a pair of Happy Glass, we chose the Atlas frame for its nostalgic flare, and we’re glad we did.
The Atlas frames your face with subtle class, while also managing to seal off the sun’s glare from sneaking in around the edges. And they do make the world feel just a bit happier every time you have them on. All these extras are what an extra hundred dollars (or so) can buy you these days, as these are still well under $300 even with the polarized glass. This makes these Happy Glass sunnies our favorite summer gear of 2016 for under $300.
But don’t just take our word for it… take his:
