A gentleman only has so much time in a day. That includes time to love, work, relax, exercise, eat, sleep (your order of priorities may differ slightly), and then do it all over again the next day. And consider this: Every pair of ‘trendy’ sneakers you buy, you need to research them, purchase at their peak of popularity (or before) and then unload them before they date you and your style. That can take up a lot of your time to keep up with.
Instead, here’s a better idea: buy classic and be done with it.
The sneaker world sees new styles drop on a daily basis, most of which find themselves headed for the great sneaker scrapheap in the sky after a season (at best) in the spotlight. But there are exceptions—those rare few designs that have withstood the test of time and become as sought after now as they were back in their original heyday. From the crown prince of tennis shoes to the runner that made Nike what it is today, these are the most iconic sneakers of all time.
