GoBro Tanks is a fresh take on frat-wear sensibilities. With a single tug, wearers tear away the tank, offering a fun way of celebrating a beer pong win, America or just passing an exam. Bashful types beware – this is a garment that will definitely grab attention.
I got a chance to try out an American flag printed GoBro tank – the ideal pick for a 4th of July weekend. There are other colors, however, they cannot be ordered custom yet, meaning you’ll have to write those hashtags and Greek letters over in glitter glue, marker or whatever else you decide. Hopefully, their Kickstarter will support such an initiative down the line, as it would really open up how many occasions they could be made for.
Overall, I really enjoyed the tank and found myself wearing it almost the entire weekend. The cloth was really comfy, and I didn’t feel any discomfort from Velcro rubbing on my skin. And while having the shirt snag on something at a restaurant or in the subway was a concern for me, no such incident ever happened.
With more designs and options to customize, I don’t see why GoBro tanks couldn’t replace normal bro tanks altogether. With nearly $25,000 pledged, they have a great start on that goal already. The reactions from friends were hilarious, and unlike most clothes, pulling a GoBro Tank off is more about confidence than style.
