We here at Urbasm like to consider ourselves smart on occasion. Although, we’d rather be cool. Introducing one of the first smart lights that is actually cool too.
‘Smart’ is often used to designate an easier way to do something, improve your life, or save energy (and possibly a whale or two). However, sometimes it can get a little confusing, when much of the stuff being advertised as smart is so specialized you need to throw all your old stuff away in order to use it.
With the Emberlight via Kickstarter, it uses your old light bulbs. So, all you need to do is remove your old bulb, install the Emberlight socket, and then replace the bulb.
Now you can control that light via your home wifi, and it works with any dim-able light bulb. The smartphone app will allow you to keep track of which Emberlights are being used in your home, and you can control them remotely no matter where you are.
