The release date for the Lexus RC F is the fourth quarter of 2014, which puts us very near game time. So far what we know about it is that it will not be a difficult luxury sports car to miss. If it doesn’t happen to catch your eye by its domed hood, large grille, and fender flares containing massive 19-inch wide tires, you will surely notice its distinct growl. This is because the RC F will exemplify a 5.0-liter V8 churning out 460 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic. This combination should be good for a limited top speed of somewhere around 170 mph.
The RC F will be the most powerful V8 in the history of Lexus. To celebrate, Lexus has prepared a unique front fascia, side cooling ducts, and an active rear spoiler to help keep this beast on the tarmac. Considering these specifications, we have a suspicion that the RC F could be as aggressive to drive as it is to look at. One such option to make it even more performance oriented will be a carbon fiber package. This will shave several hundred pounds from its curb weight, and offer up 60 mph in somewhere around 4-seconds or less.
Lexus is keeping the introductory price a secret for now. However, by the careful deduction of its competition, we would place its value at somewhere between the BMW M4 and Audi RS5.
How do you like—Lexus—now?
