A man’s watch is more than just an extension to his style. It becomes an extension to his interests, hobbies, and philosophy on life. REC watches philosophy is to recycle old and sometimes forgotten automotive icons, so they can be reborn again into another form of man’s infatuation.
“We call this concept Recover – Recycle – Reclaim, hence the name REC Watches,” says the companies CEO and co-founder, Jonathan Kamstrup. “Our first collection of watches comes from salvaging and recycling classic Morris/Austin Mini’s.”
How it works is these craftsmen find a classic automotive specimen, and then carefully cut out the scrap metal from that vehicle to create several visibly unique watches. The metal on these watches is never melted, which is what gives each wrist watch its unique individualism. In addition, the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is engraved into the back of every watch it was created from.
