Welcome to lifestyles of the rich and infamous, where we throw out the bubbly champagne wishes and caviar dreams and replace them with a can of flat root beer and a Miley Cyrus wet dream. Let’s open up the pages of fame and shame and point out which celebrities are living it up hard and who’s hardly living.
Sleek custom cars for celebrities always have been big and they always will be. Now, not every celebrity has a sleek car, say for instance Leonardo DiCaprio who prefers to roll in his Toyota Prius. Collin Ferrell has been spotted in a Black FORD (“Found On Road Dead”) Bronco, and Tom Hanks loves his Toyota Rav4 and electric e-Box. Beyond these select few celebrities who almost seem to refuse to look cool, we have your old school fellows who prefer to let loose with some good old fashioned muscle.
The Monkey’s, 6-71 Wieland (blower) supercharged Pontiac GTO convertible is said to have had so much horsepower that it was actually next to impossible to drive. To compensate for this, they eventually had to take off the blower and installed a “dummy” blower to keep the group from flipping the convertible over on top of themselves during a hard take-off. But not everybody loves the old school muscle, as David Beckam has clearly shown a taste for the intricate styling of the Porsche 911 Turbo.
David’s Porsche is presumed to have cost around $200,000, with an additional $200,000 in upgrades. The rear-engine, 4-wheel-drive, 2-door convertible puts out an estimates 415 horsepower and 415 ft-lbs of torque using its twin-turbocharged, aluminum flat-6. It can haul zero to 60 in about 3.8 seconds.
There is nothing that says freedom and raw testosterone, like 200 horsepower roaring between your legs. Among these men you can find Aerosmith rocker, Steven Tyler, on his custom built “Fat Boy”. Beyond the butt crack and wobbly exterior during stoplight take-offs, Tyler actually looks rather cool on a bike. Considering his 1981 crash that left him with a split heel and plenty of deep bruising after colliding with a tree, we figure he must have some pretty big cajones.
Keanu Reeves owns quite a few collectible and rare motorcycles, including a classic Norton Combat Commando, Harley Davidson, and vintage Indian. And while single women have been known to treat their pets like children, Keanu is guilty of this same treatment with his hogs. Actually only a select few in the world are knowledgeable enough to work on his expensive one-of-a-kind classics, so every time one of these elite mechanics shows up to take a baby away for repair, Keanu looks like a kid at summer camp watching his Mom drive away.
Of course nobody ever said that you had to have a custom chopper to be cool, as Laurence Fishburne, Dennis Hopper, and Jeremy Irons have proven while cruising on their choice select BMW sport bikes. Beyond these men of might and muscle, there are the boys of tremor and tortoise, hunched over their Vespa Scooters, including Leonardo Dicaprio, Mathew Broderick, and Mickey Rourke.
