Just like a Hollywood starlet, even the world’s most sought after cars are eventually caught without their skivvies. Car and Driver was out and about this week, and caught a 2014 BMW M235i by the tail. This one happened to include the M Sport package in red, and we can see from the photos that BMW has updated the exterior with some aggressive styling, wicked rims, and a nice overall stance.
The 2-Series will be smaller than some BMW enthusiasts are used to (like the 1-Series). However, if you can get used to just 2-doors, the lighter weight combined with a peppy engine should prove to be a worthy trade off. From what we’ve heard, the BMW 2-Series will come with a variety of powertrains, including a 240 horsepower 2.0-liter turbo for the 228i, and a 320 horsepower 3.0-liter straight-six for the M235i.
The true enthusiasts will be most interested in the M2 package (coming later), which should up the 235i’s ante to over 360 horsepower. However, you won’t have to be a big spender to enjoy a 2-Series, as the price point for a base 228i will be well within the $30,000 range. Expect to see these start to pop up in your local dealership within the first couple months of the new year.
And now you have one more thing to be thankful for this Thankgiving.
