What if you could build your own muscle car? You’d probably add in the sexy rear curves of Steve McQueens Fastback Bullitt Mustang. Perhaps you’d add a little Mopar magic to the front end, and finish it up with a massive donor motor, such as the supercharged 6.2-liter from the Corvette ZR-1 parts bin.
Taking advantage of modern technology you’d be smart to use some lightweight chassis components made of aluminum and carbon fiber. You might then minimize its safety gear to only the essentials, including seat belts, traction control, and air bags. You’d probably want to make the interior classy, yet functional, and refuse most unnecessary luxuries, except for one console-mounted touch screen.
What you’d have is a brand new muscle car that can hit speeds up to 200 mph, break 60 mph in less than 3.5-seconds, and looks like it originated from some alternative universe from the 1960s. We’re talking about the 2013 Equus Bass 770, which is not just your average retro muscle car, and with a starting price tag of $250,000, you probably could have guessed that.
