As a fitness fanatic, I have tried just about every system out there, and to tell you the truth, it all comes down to one thing. I’m talking about your dedication to getting the results the program was designed to do. With that said, some programs are a lot better than others, and offer more of a turnkey process. Especially for the person who may not have a lot of experience with pushing their body to the brink of exhaustion.
One thing I really like about the P90X program, is it doesn’t bullcrap you from the beginning. I am tired of watching all those infomercials that say you can look like Jason Statham in just 10 minutes a day, three times a week. I can tell you from years of experience, that Jason spends a hell of a lot more time on his physique that that, and you will too if you want to get any real results.
The training sections of the program are pretty intense. If you are a seasoned athlete, I highly recommend trying the “doubles,” which is a split routine. This includes once in the morning, and then again later in the day. This split routine has been used by all the greats (Arnold Schwarzenegger, etc.), and if you are looking for definition, there is really no better way to get it.
This is a good place to let all you hard gainers know, that P90X is really not set up to build any extensive mass. If you are looking for a well balanced physique, I would highly recommend building up some muscle before starting the program. There are a lot of mass building routines you can try, and the only way to know if they work, is to see how your body reacts to them. I usually give a new routine two or three months to decide if it is effective to my goals.
I have talked with a lot of other people who have tried the P90X program, and most of them agree with the advice I am about to give you. If you really want to see the kind of definition that is promised, you’re going to need to follow the prescribed diet. Yeah, I know–diets suck, but if you’re going to be spending a few hours of your day invested in this goal, you might as well make each one of those minutes count.
Just like the hair club for men… I’m not only a personal trainer, seller, and advocate of the system–I am also a client. So, if you want to try a system that is not going to lie to you about how easy it is to get the body you’ve always wanted. If you want a workout that will challenge you, but also reward you with results a lot quickly than most–results you can see–I highly recommend giving the P90X Workout a try. you won’t regret it.
And if you find you are having a hard time cooking a balanced meal right after your workout, P90X has also made their diet plan a little easier, by creating a recovery formula, of which you can read about here.
