A bus-sized runaway meteor sped past Russia defense satellites at 54,000 kilometers per hour on Friday, creating a shock wave 20-times that of an atomic bomb. Witnesses were able to get some pretty dramatic video, as the meteor crossed the sky trailing smoke.
This week, Russian collectors are clamoring to get their hands on fragments of the meteor. We’re expecting to start seeing these things pop up on eBay for several hundred a chunk. However, one such collector has already set the street value at 500,000 roubles ($17,000 US) for a B-cup sized boulder. The Easter egg hunt has come early for some!
