If you’re not one for downing bubba beers at the local drink and drool, yet, you like your specialty beverages with a little more kick than fufu decor, these five wonders of the mixology/cocktail world come highly recommended by our in-house bartender.
Window Pane– The Window Pane takes a few steps beyond the border of the standard margarita, flushing its Spanish heritage out with a bold shot of Herradura silver tequila, Agavero tequila liquor, Blue Curacao, a spritz of fresh squeezed lime, and an orange twist. A Margarita is good, but a Window Pane is twice as nice with that little added spice.
El Arandono– El Arandono is Spanish for blueberry. It should then come as no surprise to hear its root flavor is resurrected from the combination of muddled fresh blueberries, fresh lime juice, and Absolut vanilla vodka. “It’s absolutely amazing,” says our bartender. “You won’t see this one coming.” Which is a polite reference to the fact that you’ll probably end up as a decorative floor mat if you drink too many!
Key Lime Pie– “Tastes exactly like a key lime pie,” our bartender struggles for a more interesting way to describe the obvious. The only differences is too many slices won’t just leave you feeling guilty, but on the floor, along with the El Arandono drinker. Ingredients includes Stoli vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, fresh lime, and cream. This drink can lead to a night you will either never forget… or wish you could forget!
Tinto de Verano– This is a favorite of our bartender, and is almost sure to be one of yours too. This popular summer specialty mix is concocted by the infectious infusion of Spanish red wine with Fanta orange soda. “It tastes like a dryer red Sangria,” our bartender slurs as he enjoys another gulp. If summer can be found at the bottom of a tall glass, this may be one of your best options to warm up this winter.
Spanish 75– Named after a World War II cannon due to its explosive kick, Spanish 75 can be described as “a glass of fresh.” It is loaded with Spanish Cava (champaigne from Spain), Spanish gin, and freshly squeezed lemon. If this mix doesn’t put hair on your chest, you’re either female, or you didn’t have any hair there in the first place. Don’t expect miracles guys; just a damn good drink!
