Interview with the Katwoman: Pioneer of the Naughty Internet

Shannon Marie Codner (a.k.a. Katwoman) could be considered one of the founding mothers of Internet soft porn. Shannon actually began her life as a typical computer nerd working in an electronics store. But this nerd has no pocket protector, simply because she couldn’t fit one over top of those double D’s she’s packing behind that Spalding football.

“I used to work in a computer store,” says Shannon. “I had heard about the BBS community because a group of guys at work were always whispering about (trading) photos of naked women—I thought, if guys across the world were secretly doing that, why not come out from the shadows and make photos readily available.” And that she did, scoring her famous domain name, www.katwoman.com.

What is with the name “Kat,” we asked her, expecting to hear a doozy about a cathouse in Las Vegas, three midgets, and a donkey names Larry. “It’s actually just a nickname I was given ages ago because of my love of cats,” Shannon laughs. From our own perspective, however, we would say Shannon is very much catlike in her graceful motion, sleek appearance, engaging glance, and defiance to follow the road less traveled.

We asked about celebrities who’ve made a pass at her. Shannon rattles off, “Musicians, pro athletes, former child stars… the list goes on and on—there are some stories that are juicer than others, but if I told you… I wouldn’t have anything surprising to tell in my memoirs forty years from now.”
