Twitter is a powerful tool for keeping track of friends and family. However, it also happens to be an uber cool tool for finding up to minutes deals on flights and vacation packages. Twitter feeds enable various companies, such as Travelocity and American Airlines, to keep their followers current on any upcoming or ongoing deals. For instance, United Airlines calls their Twitter deals “Twares,” and while this may sound corny, if it can save you a couple hundred bucks over this next vacation year, it’ll be well worth it.
Here’s What You Do
Sign into your existing Twitter account. Well, you don’t actually have to sign in to take advantage of the search function. However, if you want to get in on the conversation and ask direct questions towards other followers, you do. Next, type “traveldeals” into the search function, and you can peruse the latest deals being offered . You can also look for specific deals, by adding phrases, such as “ski Aspen deals,” etc.
If your search is pulling up a lot of something you’re not interested in, you can omit these topics from your search using a “minus” sign before your keywords. For instance, “Ski Colorado – Winter Park” will eliminate all topics related to Winter Park, and so forth. Once you get to your destination, you can continue to use Twitter to keep up to date on any special events in the area, such as holiday festivals and concerts.
