The Zeppelin airship has been used as a luxury transporter, cargo ship, wartime weapon, and means to explore vast amounts of unchartered terrain. It was a lesson on success, ingenuity, creativity, patience, and failure. And as we look back on its heyday, there are still plenty of aspects of this great machine that should be celebrated—and the German watchmaker, Graf Zeppelin, completely agrees.
Almost every single Zeppelin watch pays tribute to the innovators and craftsmen who gave life and luxury to these magnificent ships of the sky. They do this by using many of the same materials and design aspects, including brushed and polished stainless steel, hand-stitched leather, and precision mechanics/movements (both mechanical and automatic).
There may be more than one way to build a world-class watch, but Zeppelin has found a way to keep it affordable, and without skimping on the quality. Not every Zeppelin was a success, but every success story must begin with at least one failure. It’s about time they get it right.
